I PUT TO YOU LADIES AND GENTLEMEN OF THE JURY, DO YOU FIND THAT INANIMATE OBJECT GUILTY?
It had to happen! In yet another liberal attempt to remove responsibility from the individual, the relatives of two Washington, D.C.-area sniper victims on Thursday sued a gun manufacturer and store linked to the Bushmaster XM15 assault rifle used in the attacks.
The family members of James "Sonny" Buchanan and Conrad Johnson want to play "legalistic lotto" and make millions of dollars by doing....NOTHING. They are claiming the gunmaker and store showed "gross negligence" that caused injuries and death, according to the complaint. The relatives are represented by the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence. What a surprise! This group has been attacking the 2nd amendment for years. Since they can't interpret away the right to bear arms which is protected by the Constitution, they will simply use lawyers and the courts to try and make it financially impossible to operate a firearm business. This, like many similar cases, is a prime example of how the liberal tyranny has eroded the sense of self-control and responsibility in this country.
This behavior has it's roots in the liberal theory that humans are not unique, beloved creations of God in his image, but complex animals, controlled and shaped by their environment and genetics. Liberals reject the concept of free-will, a concept that Conservatives and the Roman Catholic religion has defended for years. After all, if free-will existed YOU would be responsible for the situation that YOU find yourself in. That's a bitter pill to swallow for many hopeless and disgruntled wage-slaves and bitter, timid intellectuals.
The liberal rejection of free-will is really a form of paganistic tribalism that has it's roots in ancient human superstitions and beliefs. Predestination and fate (destiny) are often embraced by these left-wing loonies because they have no core guiding belief in themselves. The human condition won't allow an individual to fool themselves to the degree that they believe there is no force greater than themselves, so many have adopted primitive belief systems like the zodiac, pyschics, or polytheistic "Earth Gods" as their deities. Others have turned to secular humanism as their religion. This worldly and temporal view of man as the center of everything is both self-centered and naive resulting in a false sense of self-awareness. These people tend to be quite pessimistic and at the same time elitist and judgemental. They are focused on human behavior in such a shallow context but, being human themselves, they rationalize their own behavior. The view themselves as free from the kind of limitations they seek to impose on others. That's how you end up with people like... Bill Clinton. Talented? Yes. Driven. Obviously. Good Communicator? Sure. Totally devoid of any conscience? Yep. Able to justify any means (no matter how horrible) because he believes his ends are righteous? Absolutely.
Like spiritual couch potatoes, they look outward (government, clubs, corporations) for change rather than face the painful internal process of changing themselves.

More great stuff from Jonah Goldberg (one of the sharpest conservative columnists out there)
"The first thing to keep in mind is that it is almost impossible
to cut any tax without making the people who pay that tax
richer. And, rich people pay a lot more taxes than poor people
do. According to the Tax Foundation, more than five out of every
six dollars collected by the federal government were paid by the
top 25 percent of taxpayers. You need a gross adjusted income of
$55,225 to qualify as a member of the top quarter. Now, if all
these people qualify as 'rich,' so be it. If cutting their taxes
makes them richer, so be that, too. The top 1 percent, by the way,
pay 37 percent of the total income taxes collected by the federal
government. Democrats keep talking about how little poor people
will get from an income tax cut. That's true--because poor people
pay so little in income taxes. How about creating a tax system in
this country that makes everybody feel like they're paying their
fair share? I don't want to raise taxes on anybody--I want to cut
them for everybody. But having a system where vast segments of the
working population are clients of the government and a small number
are funders of it is not only institutionalized class warfare,
it's the exact opposite of shared sacrifice." --Jonah Goldberg
