It's amusing to watch the leftists within the mainstream media to try and latch on to old stories about President Bush's guard service. It didn't hurt him in the 2000 election and it won't hurt him now. His leadership and unwavering principles were revealed to reeling Americans after 9/11. We are all well aware of what it is that defines President Bush these days. The fact that the Democrats have resorted to digging through old guard records is more an indication of their desperation than of any strategic thinking on their part. The two questions that are front and center in the minds of Americans are:
1. "What is it that defines John Kerry?"
2. "Does he even know?"
The reason the criticism of the Swift boat veterans has stirred up the hornets nest among the left is that it stings and it stings badly. Kerry has simultaneously portrayed himself as a war hero and an anti-war activist. He has proudly claimed medals that he THREW away in protest. The men who served with him say he can't be trusted and that he isn't capable of the kind of leadership required by the office of the President of the United States.
The reason Kerry's lies have come back to haunt him is that he has played both sides of the fence too often. His flip-flopping and wishy-washy political image have only been strengthened by the Swift Boat veterans accounts of Kerry's Vietnam follies.
His disgraceful glory-hounding would be bad enough, but Kerry, being both ambitious and opportunistic, came home, became a war protester and made up all sorts of heinous allegations about his fellow Vietnam veterans. Kerry's speech became a propaganda device and a sort mental torture used against American POW's. A Communist Vietnamese museum in Hanoi honors John Kerry's anti-war activities as a reason for their victory in the war.
These facts cast Kerry's war record in a new light and raise serious suspicions about the one thing he thought he had in the bag. It is certainly an issue in this race.

REAL "JOBS" DATA
In August, 144,000 new jobs were added to the economy, nearly 60,000 more jobs in June and July than previously estimated. Overall 1.7 million new jobs have been created since last August.
The unemployment rate continued to fall, dipping to 5.4 percent, nearly a full point below the peak last summer. Bush pointed out that the current rate is lower than the average rate of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.

Still think we need a more "sensitive" War on Terror, Mr. Kerry?
This is the kind of primitive scum we are up against...
Cleric supports targeting children
An extremist Islamic cleric based in Britain said yesterday that he would support hostage-taking at British schools if carried out by terrorists with a just cause.
Omar Bakri Mohammed, the spiritual leader of the extremist sect al-Muhajiroun, said that holding women and children hostage would be a reasonable course of action for a Muslim who has suffered under British rule.
In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, Mr Mohammed said: "If an Iraqi Muslim carried out an attack like that in Britain, it would be justified because Britain has carried out acts of terrorism in Iraq.
"As long as the Iraqi did not deliberately kill women and children, and they were killed in the crossfire, that would be okay."
Mr Mohammed, 44, who lives in Edmonton, north London, but is originally from Syria, also claimed that the Chechen rebels were not responsible for the deaths of more than 350 people - at least half of them children - who are so far known to have died in Beslan.
"The Mujahideen [Chechen rebels] would not have wanted to kill those people, because it is strictly forbidden as a Muslim to deliberately kill women and children. It is the fault of the Russians," he said.
The father of seven came to Britain in 1985 after being deported from Saudi Arabia because of his membership of a banned group. He has since been given leave by the Home Office to remain in Britain for five years but the Government is reviewing his status.
He gave an interview yesterday to promote a "celebratory" conference in London next Saturday to commemorate the third anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
Andrew Dismore, the Labour MP for Hendon, was infuriated by Mr Mohammed's comments. "That sounds to me like incitement and I will report him to Scotland Yard," he said. "It is an insult to most moderate Muslims, who are sick of people like this claiming to represent them."
"It's the fault of the Russians" this is a grown man saying this...
