Liberal Grinches and Scrooges of the left


Wiping my tears away after watching the BEST theatrical version of Charles Dicken's "A Christmas Carol" (the 1970 "Scrooge" starring Albert Finney) and reflecting on how blessed I am that my family is coming to have Christmas with me, I stumbled upon a thought:

Liberals have become Grinches and Scrooges. Not only do they reject the religious foundation of Christmas as fairy tale nonsense, they reject the very moral basis of what Christmas is all about! The generosity, charity, and love that flows during the holidays is rejected as cheap commercialism and superficial by the jaded left. Speaking of superficial, it's liberals who object to Holiday decorations that feature angels, crosses, nativity scenes, ect.

The sympathy and reverence most Americans feel towards the "Holy Family" of Jesus, Mary and Joseph traveling far from their homes to a cave/stable in Bethlehem on a cold December night is sneered at by the selfish and secular Left.

Like Scrooge, the liberals have decided that the warm emotion, generosity and fellowship we experience during the holidays is nothing but a humbug. Like Scrooge, they think charity is the role of the government and rarely engage in it in their own lives.

Like the Grinch, liberal cynics despise the hustle and bustle and the
hullabaloo of the holidays as shallow and illogical. These people actually begrudge buying gifts for people because it's "expected" of them this time of year. They stand on their lonely mountain and pout, watching those of us who make ourselves merry at this time of year with smug disapproval.

I have never been sure how these Grinches and Scrooges can go through their lives with no reflection and examination at the root of their thinking or the logical end of their philosophy.
