The New York Times is reporting that the "Gap" between rich and poor has grown

This is a common theme among liberals to attack the capitalist foundation of our country....and it's a completely bogus argument. One of the basic logical fallacies known as the "complex question" fallacy is evident here. Two otherwise unrelated points are conjoined and treated as a single proposition. The reader is expected to accept or reject both together, when in reality one is acceptable while the other is not.

The reason the "gap" between the rich and the poor is a good thing is this: In any free society there will always be individuals who, for whatever reason, have absolutely nothing. That part of the equation is a constant. Therefore, the "gap" is actually an indicator of the wealth of society. We should celebrate the gap. Long live the gap!!

What liberals try to do with this information is to shape public opinion on capitalism. They want people to decide somewhere in their minds that our economic system is failing and that "they" (the liberals") have a political solution to this economic problem. The idea is absurd.

Why Amare Stoudamire is the player of this year's NBA playoffs:

He has faced and dominated some the most versatile big players in the history of the NBA. Dirk Nowitski, Tim Duncan? You bet they are great players. Amare is simply on another level.

He has kept his composure while weaker men flopped about on the floor at his feet.

He has consistently taken the ball strong to the hole regardless of the obstacles and regardless of past results.

Game 4: Block of Tim Duncan's dunk attempt. Basketball at it's highest level. Oh, and in case you were wondering it wasn't goaltending for the same reason dunking the ball isn't offensive basketball interference.
