I had a co-worker (who shall remain nameless) who demanded leave without pay until my government employer removes all holiday decorations from our work areas because he believes in the so-called "seperation of Church and State". Keep in mind these decorations are not paid for by any tax dollars and are voluntarily put up by fellow workers.
What a joke! Our decorations are so vanilla, generic, secular as to be devoid of any religious references or inferences as it is.
Besides the "seperation of Church and State" is a direct rebuke of Henry VIII establishing a national "Church of England" which then could allow the government to openly discrimination against other religions.
The very idea of civil rights only exist because of the values of western civilization including the JUDEO-CHRISTIAN religious foundation of the founders of our nation.
Seperation of church and state does NOT mean that an atheist belief system becomes the new state religion by default because some joker decides his sensibilities are offended by the mention of God, morality, religion, or religious holidays in a public setting.
