I find it difficult to withhold my disgust and disdain for politicians who would vote against preserving a veteran's memorial. These people are living high off the public trough and recklessly wielding power earned by men and women braver than themselves and given to them by the American public. Here they are voting against a memorial honoring veterans. You want to know the secret reason they voted against this memorial? Because the memorial contains (gasp!) a cross. Just like all those crosses on the coast of Normandy in France. Millions of men and women of the armed forces and across America are Christian. Almost all the founding fathers were Christian. The country was founded on the Judeo-Christian ideals of the value of the individual and human rights. It's correct to define America as one nation, under God. It's O.K. to have our money say "In God we trust."

Today Democrats should hang their heads in shame considering that the dissent was unanimously Democrat. 74 representatives including Nancy Pelosi voted against HR 5683. At least Democrats aren't voting along party lines. Because I'm proud to say that my representative, Democrat Ed Case, voted correctly on this issue.
